My Evolving Story

Do you ever look back at your life and wondering "How did I get here?"
I have been privileged with wonderful mentors, teachers and supervisors in my professional and personal life. My most influential teacher has been my son, who is on the autism spectrum and lives with a seizure disorder, intellectual disability. He has taught me to go beyond my comfort level to support him to be the best that he can be.

On that journey, I discovered my inner resilience and how to tap into my personal resources when life gets difficult. My most precious resources are my family, friends, important social connections and my Creator. I believe my Creator created everything, every being unique, exactly like it needs to be. I am optimistic and believe people are generally good. This worldview challenges me to venture on my life's journey with curiosity, practice non-judgement, grow and learn, and love unconditionally.

I love learning and knowing... I love to listen and be curious. I have many interests: people, cultures, spirituality, psychology, sewing, gardening, music, healthy living, and food, to name a few.

My education started with an Honours in Disability Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work which led me to a career as a Resource Coordinator in social services - adult disability field and eventuality to counselling in healthcare. I embarked on my Master's Degree in Applied Psychology at the University of Lethbridge and added the theological perspective through the Master's Degree in Counselling through Providence University Seminary.

I am a culturally attuned  Psychotherapist. I respect the dignity and values of others. I  do not impose my values on other people, however, my Christian values are evident in my private and professional life. My guiding principle for my practice is to provide an integration of sound psychological reasoning to provide care for the mind and for the soul.
